The IPL 2024 Auction concluded on Tuesday at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), a team with five championship titles, made significant additions by securing six new players. The standout signings include the Kiwi pair of Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell. Led by MS Dhoni, CSK also successfully acquired the services of Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who was bought for Rs. 4 crore, and the 20-year-old power-hitting batter from Uttar Pradesh, Sameer Rizvi, who fetched an impressive Rs. 8.40 crore.
With a wealth of all-rounders in their lineup, CSK appears to have strengthened all aspects of their team, boasting considerable depth in their batting order. Notably, Deepak Chahar could potentially fill in as late as No. 10 in the batting order.

Although Dhoni the captain and wicketkeeper can overshadow Dhoni the batter, the 42-year-old can sometimes hurt the team if he fails to deliver from his bat when needed. Apart from that, the legendary cricketer is not 100 percent fit as he still struggles a bit with his injured knee. It is not sure if Dhoni will be able to play all the matches and if he doesn’t, it will have a big impact on the team’s performance.
